Fire
It was as if the skyscrapers were on fire although they were not being consumed. It sounded as if there were fireworks going off everywhere. But no one knew if they were fireworks, bombs, or gunfire. We just knew to run.
It was so bad that parents were leaving their children to find shelter for themselves. It was the first responders that really were the heroes and gathered all the children. This was all that they knew to do because how else were they to respond? What they were trained to do would not work. Nothing would put out these fires. There were no bad guys to be arrested. Just noise, chaos, fear, and true character being revealed.
No one could figure out where the source was coming from. Even the news was of no help as all they could say was, “Seek shelter from this unknown. People are dying and we don’t know why. Bomb like noises are coming from everywhere, and the city looks like it’s on fire but it’s not. So stay indoors, stay safe, and God be with us all.”
