Alien apocalypse
“Aliens don’t exist according to humans. I believe it would be wise if they don’t find out.” My boss, Madeline, touched the freezers glass, studying the creature inside of it. “This would cause too much trouble. Any scientific discoveries won’t get out unless I assure you it’s okay.”
I nodded once, hoping she wouldn’t ask the question I was scared to answer. She turned around and headed towards the door but stopped abruptly. “Oh and why did you say we’re in danger earlier?”
I exhaled slowly before sitting in my stool and taking my gloves off. “These things, we don’t know how many are on earth but they have the mindset of a fictional creature...”
Madeline raised an eyebrow. “Which is?”
“A zombie..”
Oooohihihoo look it’s a toothy bud bud
She was always sighing. Not always orally, but she was always sighing. Her under eyes were darkening rapidly, her posture worsening with every passing second. Sorrow oozed from her pores, pain ran through her veins. And they sat and watched with smiling faces. They had no concern for her life. All they cared was that she lived long enough to serve her purpose. She was a mere test subject. No more, no less.
Betrayal
I don’t remember who I am. I have dreams of being dragged out of bed into the blistering snow.
I barely remember what I am. Warm and cold bodies alike around me barely stirring as I was shoved out of my dorm. Am I a monster?
I see my arms and hands but only just. They have been growing ever-more translucent as the time passes. Minutes, hours, days, months? I cannot remember when I last had a concept of time.
What I feel is pain. Constant biting pain coursing through my disintegrating body as parts of me fade while others elongated and distorted. I have claws instead of nails. I have teeth again where before I had none. I have eyes all around my face like a spider.
What I feel is a constant hunger, fostering in me like a vat being filled with liquid.
Who I remember is that woman outside my home tapping on her machine is my sister. And she is the one who brought me here. She is the one who betrayed me.
All I know, is that I must escape.
Experiment #000256A
A slight orange glow illuminated the shielded face of the human in the yellow hazardous suit as they stared into the abyss of swirling turquoise liquid. They stared at the incubated figure of some alien creature,it’s features non-existent,eyes simply black abysses.
This didn’t seem to unnerve the person, however as they stared at the alien. Tapping echoed from the glass, electing no response from the figure of darkness that floated idly. “Still unresponsive.” The voice of the person in the hazard suit muttered, quickly scribbling down that line and a few other words.
Checking the console with a few swipes of their finger, they sighed. “Vitals unchanged from previous” they mumbled, writing a few extra words as they scribbled more notes.
“Subject is showing no vitals. Subject is unresponsive. Subject may be a failure.” They repeated to themselves.
As they mumbled, however, they missed the glisten of life in those charcoal eyes.
They also missed the quiet beeps of the creature’s vitals.
