City of Chaos

I stood, frozen to my spot as people walked around me in every direction. They acted as if I were just another obstacle, another bush or rock to avoid. People shouted, ran, and laughed everywhere, and a cacophony of screams erupted in the distance. Probably a sports game. There were so many smells- I could smell hot dog, smoke, cigarettes, body spray, sugar… My mind was spinning faster than a top. I looked around, catching sight of a random person flirting with a girl. Another person was carrying a huge backpack and seemed to be struggling. An extra layer of thoughts applied itself onto the already intense swirl of thoughts running around in my mind. So many people, cars, buildings… The city feels inescapable and immense.
