The Man in the Basement
BANG…I suddenly awoke, smashing my head against the top of my sisters bunk bed. “What was that?” I whispered. I got no response so I decided to lay in bed a little longer with my eyes open, waiting to see if I could hear another sound. As my eyes were finally just starting to close again I heard what sounded like footsteps run by my room. I looked up slowly, the hair on my skin standing right up like i’ve seen a ghost. I stared into the black hallway barely able to see besides the glooming moonlight peaking in through our curtain. I couldn’t see anything until my eyes started to adjust. I could make out a face looking straight at me peeking around the corner. I laid right down and stared at the ceiling, I was dead set that I was about to be killed. The floor creaked more but this time it was getting closer to me. I started shaking without even realizing it..I was about to die. I peaked my eye open and as soon as it was open I was staring this old man with nasty grey hair falling down from his head in the eyes. I tried to scream to alert my sister who was sleeping away. He grabbed my mouth, pushing down so I couldn’t scream. I couldn’t even talk or attempt to talk. I felt like my face was pushing down and that was it. As soon as I thought it was over he let go. He got in my face whispering into my ear “ if you scream or try to run away I will hurt you. Your family will never see you again.” I was in shock so I listened I wanted nothing more than to live. I also agreed knowing maybe my family will be untouched. He grabbed my hands and tied them together leaving me basically stuck in whatever he was doing to me. He pointed to the hallway I walked out in my pink shorts and my thomas college T-shirt and he took me towards the basement door. I got confused because there’s no way he would leave my family untouched but kill me in the basement. I walked silently down the stairs and when I reached the bottom he immediately shut the door and turned the lights off. It was bitch black I sat down trying to crawl slowly and silently towards the other side of the basement but the old man turned a flashlight on he found me in seconds. Told me that I would suffer more. He pulled a string hanging from the ceiling and open a secret door in the floor. Picking me up because I was too tired and wanting to give up he brought me down there. Brushing my face all on spider webs I was now freaking out. He set me down on a dog bed in a room surrounded by blood smeared on the wall he grabbed my arm and pricked it. Disgustingly he started to lick my blood I tried pulling him off but he kept going. He was draining me, I was losing to much blood. After that I opened my eyes I was laying in my bed now. I felt fine waking so I assumed this was all a huge nightmare I had. I walked out into the living room to find my family shredded into pieces. I had no words I fell to the ground. Tears leaking out of my eyes. I screamed over and over hoping someone would hear me and come. No one came. But then I started sniffing I smelt something I couldn’t reject It was suffocating me. I needed it. I looked down blood touching my finger tips. No regrets I shoved my hands in my mouth. Tasting the rich creamy red blood flowing through my mouth. I couldn’t have time to throw up it was too good. I felt a tap on my shoulder I turned around this old man looking at me smiling. “My beautiful daughter” he said looking at me. You’ve now transformed and it’s time for you to come with me. I was confused but it felt right I followed him down to the basement into a new part. It had a bed but not just a bed a coffin bed. The old man told me everything I was destined to be a vampire since I was born he was my father.
