The Alternative

As I’m under a tree I feel my my eyes getting heavier and heavier and I feel myself slowly drifting off to sleep.

I open my eyes to see a unfamiliar place and there’s nothing but a door. “W-where am I?” I say to anybody who could had heard me. “You are at the alternative.” I hear a gentle voice say. “Wait what is the alternative?” I ask confused. “Just opened the door and look for yourself.” She says. I cautiously approach the door and reach for the door knob, I look out the door to see beautiful meadows full of flowers and villages for miles and over all the most wonderful place I’ve ever seen. “What is this place?” I say. “I told you you’re at the alternative it’s like earth but better.” She explains. “Okay but why am I here?” I ask confused. “Uh never mind that just go and spend a day here and if you don’t like it you can go but if you do enjoy the alternative then you shall stay here forever, but remember you decision is permanent.” She says. I agree and I take my first step outside, I look around and see a flower store I walked in and decide to talk to a shopkeeper that owned a flower store. “Hello there, I’m new in town and everything looks amazing.” I say to him. “It is. Would you like to buy any flowers?” He says with a blank expression. “No I’m just here to look around.” I say. “Would you like buy flowers?” He repeats. “Why are you repeating?” I say. “It’s no use they won’t answer your questions.” I hear voice behind me say. I turn around it’s a girl with a black cloak and black hair. “Who are you? Wait Violet?” I look to see my childhood friend in front of me “yup it’s me and i need you to follow me first.” She says. I follow here to a dark alleyway. “ okay I need you to listen to me carefully this whole beautiful place is a trap, it’s made to trap you.” She explains. “But how did I get here?” I ask. “Did you fall asleep under a old and magical tree?” She asks. “Uh I fell asleep under a old tree don’t know if it was magical.” I responded. “You fell asleep under the mystical tree.” She explains. “How does a tree transport me to this place?” I ask puzzled. “It doesn’t really transport you here it transports your mind and spirit not your physical body. The story of how it came to be is unknown but all I know it’s more than 500 years old and it lures and traps souls here. Violet explains to me. “Okay but why wouldn’t the shopkeeper answer my questions and why can’t I just tell that mystery voice that I want to leave this place?” I ask. “The shopkeeper is being mind controlled it has to say that and everyone else here is being mind controlled, the only reason I’m not is because I’m like you and to answer your last question that mysterious voice will do anything in its power to make you stay. I want to help you to escape this evil place.” She clarifies. “Okay what do I have to do?” I ask excited to leave this place. “You have to say I am dreaming 3 times.” She says. “Wait hold up what about you?” I ask. “Well someone gotta lead the people out of this horrible place. Don’t worry about me we’ll probably never see each other again so it doesn’t matter.” Violet says sounding a bit sad. “Okay here it goes. I am dreaming, I am dreaming, I am dreaming.” Slowly I feel myself waking up.

“Wake up you sleepy head.” I hear a voice say. I slowly open my eyes to see violet! “Violet your here!” I say throwing my hands around her pulling her into a hug. “Of course I’m here we made plans you didn’t forget right?” She says with a smile. “No of course not.” I say almost tearing up.
