Vagabound

Words are an exchange of heat

To freeze them is a challenge

A desire to frame them in stars

Twinkle in minds

Or stanzas that rhyme

Lines that imprint in ink

But cement themsleves in

Ways you think

Sometimes they age in ways

That make them boundless

Syllables with legs

That leap off pages

That make your mind speak

In ways that are ageless

The writer is the vagabond

Making home out of pen

Creating stories to touch hearts

Unite people in ways that are boundless

For the writer reading this

Seeking sanctuary

But seeming so far

Touch your letters to your heart

And know that you found it
