In Debt, No Care

Purr, my cat, stared at me as I ran across the hall in my socks to get the mail. I hoped it would be exciting, like a 25 percent off coupon or something.

I opened the mailbox and reached inside, only to find out my electricity bill was overdue. I was in debt, but I honestly didn’t care. My life is as boring as it gets. I walked back inside with my wet slippers and plopped myself upon the couch. Why do I even care about bills anymore? You only live once! If that even makes sense...

I got up from the couch and walked towards the back recording room, where I do pointless recordings to make myself feel better about my day.

It wasn’t much, just a brown desk with an old used laptop I bought online a few years ago, and my two-dollar headphones. “Hey, it’s ya DJ Yay comin’ at you live from the studio!” I paused. “Oh forget it…” I threw my headphones across my room and slammed my head on the desk.

“OW!”

I wanted to curse so bad, but what was the point anymore? No one knows I’m even here except the bill people and my cat! UGH!

The sound of the loud bang made Purr jump. After a while, I kept feeling like I should go to the doctor to check my head. It still really hurt. Not like a headache or migraine…but worse.

I got dressed, brushed my teeth, and went to the restroom. I looked in the mirror to fix my hair, only to find my head was… split open.

this isn’t ten lines but it’s okay… thank you for reading! <3
