POEM STARTER

"Deep down, you're really shallow"

Paradox - a phrase which would appear to contradict itself, but makes metaphorical sense. Write a poem that starts and ends with a different paradox.

Eluded

Deep down, you’re really shallow

It takes a while for one to see

Like an oasis in the stifling desert

All hope is lost.

A wicked trick, an elusive facade

Nothing more and nothing less

Your smile was warm but your heart was cold

You drew me in I should have known

Deep down, you’re not as you seem
