she lay flat

back to the ground

naked

a gaping slice in her leg

oozing with blood

when her eyes just barely

flickered open

weak

and in excruciating pain

she had just regained consciousness

what happened to me???

where am i???

Her wounded leg

in a pool of blood

Her ribcage

dappled with colorful bruises

Her wrists

red and rope burned

She couldn't believe this

was her body in front of her

Just a few feet beside her body

a large bloody knife

lay on the cold wood floor

PANIC!

No don't panic.

She slowly sat upright

using every ounce of core strength she could muster

now in her vision was a body

a woman lay naked just as she had

huge gaping cut on her leg

red, rope burned wrists

but this woman was an unearthly

lifeless

shade of white

there was no furniture but

she knew she was in a house

the windows were shut, covered, and taped

and there was a kitchen

and a door

A DOOR!

she heard two voices down a hallway

Faint but distinguishable

"Did you kill them?" He asked

RUN!

"With a knife." The second voice answered

RUN!

she was going to run

she was going to dash out that door

she was going to flee this nightmarish torture zone

or whatever it was

from wherever she was

but she froze.

footsteps

she heard a heavy stride nearing the room

they were growing louder

"let's check it out"

the voice was much louder

much closer
