“Your Highness.” She heard the shouting of her maids and wondered what was going on.

“What is it, is it something urgent?” She asked from her seat. She was just admiring the thrown of their Kingdom.

The thrown that she will someday give to her younger Brother Lennox Kai. She kept him here in the palace for a long time, as a palace guard so that people won’t suspect anything.

She would of course give him the freedom he desperately want ever since a child, but at night he will have to sleep here in the castle for his own safety. Kai doesn’t remember they’re siblings, and she wanted it to stay that way for now. She haven’t eliminated the threat to their rule just yet.

“Your Highness, it’s Lord Kai.” And with that she immediately went outside wearing only her night robe, her brother is much more important than catching a cold.

She instantly went to his room and saw the younger whimpering and tossing around the bed, she get closer to him and started humming the lullaby their Mother used to sing. And it almost immediately calmed him down, she smiled to herself.

“The lullaby still work on him, huh?” She know it’s silly to talk to herself, but she was just so happy.

“Notify me if he had another nightmare again.” She said coldly and the maids nodded.

Now she need to make sure everything is finalized; she want to defeat her enemy as soon as her brother’s eighteenth birthday. And she only have two weeks to complete that, if only the snake is easy to lure.

She was fidgeting the whole time to try and think of a plan, until her Royal adviser disturbed her.

“Your Highness, Lord Kaiser wish to speak with you.” She frown at the statement, because knowing her uncle he would not want to be disturbed at this hour.

“Alright, let him in.” She gave the order and the door opened, she tried to put on a smile in front of him, but something is telling her not to do that.

“Lord Kaiser, what can I do for you?” She asked formally as the older man took a seat at the sofa.

“Why are you being so formally with me, dear niece?” She just smiled and waited for him to speak about his agenda.

“Anyway, I came here tonight to asked if you have found your younger Brother yet?” Now, that puzzled her. Why would her uncle be interested if her brother were found or not?

“I don’t have news yet.” She answered plainly, she couldn’t exposes her brother at this curial time.

“I see, it’s just that two weeks from now we should pick a new ruler for Sequoya.”

And like a jigsaw puzzle everything started to be clear, why suddenly, her uncle wanted to know that. He want the throne for himself! Now she just have to confirm if he was the one whom have killed their parents, after that the last step of her plan will be set in motion.

“I see, don’t worry about it uncle. After all I will help the King in running this Kingdom.” After that she saw how the man clinch his fist, she just smirked to herself.

“I will have a meeting with the council in two weeks, and I want you to be there as well.” She said that on purpose, and upon the reaction he gave, she already know the answer to her question.

Just like her plan she called the council for the meeting, and as expected her uncle was present as well. And surprisingly her brother was there as well, but that will not stop her from taking what belongs to them!

“I call everyone here today is to announce that Sequoya will have a new ruler.”

Everyone was shocked by her declaration, of course her uncle was not the exception. All of them looked like they’re constipated, and it look so funny.

“May I know who it is?” It was her adviser who have asked that. She then looked at everyone and smirked, some of them visibly gulped out of nervousness.

“Sequoya only have one true ruler. That’s Kaia Montgomery, and I will not let you take what’s mine.”

She know it shocked everyone in the room including her long lost brother, she smiled gently at him, she defiantly missed him. But she couldn’t do anything back then, because of a tragedy strikes upon their family. Their parents are killed by their uncle for the sake of power, now that she have eliminated them, she can finally be with her brother again!

“And as your Queen I demand, Lord Kaiser Montgomery to be put on trial as he was the mastermind for killing the late King Arlo and his wife Queen Charlotte, that we have all been looking for.” Gasped was audible in the throne room mainly from her uncle because he obviously did not expect her to know the truth.

“How… how did you found out about it?” She smirked at that question; she did not expect her uncle to be that dumb.

“Let’s just say you have tons of weakness, Uncle.” She of course said the last word with sarcasm, after everything she found out she have lost respect for him already.

“Take him to the dungeon, until further notice.” She told the guards and walked towards her younger brother.

“Lennox Kai, it have been awhile, dear brother.” She said as she cupped his checks, the younger relax against her touch.

“You’re my sister?” She couldn’t do anything but nodded.

“I finally found you. Big sis.”

“Yes, and we will not be separated again.”

She vowed to him and hugged him tight. The journey of finding justice and being reunited with your remaining family member was not easy, but now she can confidently say that they are the ultimate survivor.
