POEM STARTER

Write a poem that could be sung as a lullaby.

You could set it to the tune of an existing lullaby, or think up your own rhythm. Remember that lullabies are for children, and are ususally meant to be calming.

Be Still

Be still my child

Come and rest right here

Take a deep breath and let me dry your tears

Be still my child

Just let it all go

Rest your tired body and go with the flow

Be still my child

No need to fight against your rest

Sleep is not your enemy but a friend at best

Be still my child

Go ahead and close your eyes

Dreams of unicorns, ice cream, and apple pie

Be still my child

You have nothing to fear

As a good parent, I’ll be right here.
