I’m alone now

Nobody near me

Not a sound

The cars aren’t disturbing me

The chirping birds are away from me

The chattering of extroverts is gone

It’s so peaceful

I am finally calm

But then

I hear a strange sound

It’s like a mosquito near my ear

It resembles a screeching noise

Then I remember

That I have a lovely friend named Tinnitus

He ruins every silent moment I have

He disturbs my sleep

He annoys me

But at least he’s always with me
