Beauty in the Black

Darkness called my name

so I went back to the Black.

I see it’s beauty since

it does not overwhelm.

It whispers wisdoms

too soft for the day time.

A student to stories & lullabies

in constellations

& yet,

I favor the outliers

that twinkle on their own.

No need to be included.

Still worthy to help the moon

illuminate the night

just enough to make out

Mother Earth’s outlines.

At this time

trees let their leaves rest

as the wind rocks them to sleep.

They stretch their branches in the morning to wave goodbye

to the Black.
