Not one person noticed the pain in his eyes

Not one person cared as they hurried on by

Not one person stopped to see if he was ok

No one could know his fear and dismay

Never before had he felt so alone

No friends to comfort, the street now his home

No warmth of a fire, or a kindly hug

No evening meal, he just had no luck

Not one person saw the rags on the floor

Not one person paused, they chose to ignore

Not one person saw the last tear in his eyes

Not one person noticed this man as he died.
