Stuck in his pain

Trying to turn pages

But he moves so slow

That it takes ages

Till she came along

With a smile so bright

He smiled back

And felt alright

He promised her a lifetime

Gave her his heart

She did the same

But now they’re apart

He screamed at the world

That took her away

Wonders if he should join her

Barely hanging on each day

Lost in the fog

Alone in the deep

Haunted by a promise
