Trapped

“Is this the new house?” She moaned unenthusiastically as she peered out of the car window.

“Yes Molly, Isn’t it great!”

“Uuuummm? I guess so!” She replied in a questioning voice as she looked at the ominous mansion looming over their car.

“Home sweet home!” Exclaimed Samantha, Mollys mum. They stood looking up to the infinite seeming floors of their new fancy Victorian home.

“Well it may need a bit of work! But it will be worth it!”

“Will it?” Muttered Molly under her breath. They went into the house. It was grand(cobwebby) and had a breathtaking(effortful) spiral staircase leading up to the other floor. They explored, one significantly more eager than the other, all around the house. First the kitchen, then the bathroom, living room, dining room, ballroom, second dining room and countless more until Samantha said,

“Go on Molly, you can go find your room if you want.”

“Ok I guess?” She replied as she began the long pointless climb up the stairs. When she reached the top of the unnecessary mountain high stairs she peered through each door saying what each was,

“Bathroom, dusty bedroom, horrible bedroom, bathroom, atrocious bedroom, decent bedroom.” She stopped, “This’ll do.” The room was dusty yet cobweb free she plonked down on her bed and began to move the furniture ,that was left behind by previous owners, into her own style. As she moved the wardrobe, she saw something. A DOOR. She stepped back surprised at this unique discovery. It was made of shiny dark wood with a rusted metal handle. Unusual ornate designs patterned the edges of the hidden door. Where would it lead? She didn’t know but her curiosity convinced her to find out.

She opened the door.

A passage long and dark. She entered, stepping through the doorway cautiously but excitedly. She walked, carefully trodding in the derelict tunnel. Another door at the end. She stepped forward, her face full of fear. She opened it and closed her eyes as she stepped into the unknown. No. This was impossible. She looked around. The bedroom she was in before. Her bag was dumped on the bed. Exactly the same room. She ran through the door and to the other one again opening it. The same place. How? It didn’t matter, she just needed to get out of this freaky house. As fast as a squirrel up a tree she ran out the door and down the stairs.

“MUM!”she screamed,”We need to go! NOW!” She ran out the door.

She had gone nowhere. She was back inside the house. She couldn’t leave ever again.

She was trapped.
