Peggy and Wilma yelled until Wilma’s throat was sore. Peggy kept going and followed her sister around the cottage. Wilma went about her daily chores, heading out of the old cottage to chop firewood. Her sister followed all the while swatting at her left and right. Wilma left her at the door for the barn where they stored the firewood.

Inside, she chopped a few off the stump before her sister came in and kept the fight going. Wilma tried to ignore her, but Peggy would not be ignored. Wilma turned around to grab a log, but turning back found that Peggy placed her foot squarely on the cutting stump. Wilma pushed off her foot, but Peggy kept putting it back on.

Wilma motioned with the axe.

Peggy gave her a raspberry and started again.

That’s when Wilma had enough. She lifted the axe and swung, cutting off Peggy’s toes in a bloody moment the family would never forget.
