The young puppy cuddles next to the dragon. He has a home now, but it wasn’t always like this. When he belonged to Pate, the stable boy, he knew only slop, hard strikes, and loud voices. The patrons of the inn weren’t kind, and he spent most of his days cowering in corners, looking for scraps of food. Pate tried his best to keep him happy, but Pate had his own issues, and he thought the threat of the dragon invasion was the biggest one.
