Shadows on the ceiling.

Shadows in the mind.

Voices incorporeal,

looking for a place to hide.

Trembling feelings rushing in,

inert thoughts racing out.

That sensation of oblivion,

that will never come about.

Mysteries of the night,

that you never want to tackle.

Memories of the past,

that still haunt you like a jackal.
