POEM STARTER

Write a poem about a messy room.

Whether literal or symbolic, think about what the messy room can tell us.

My Messiest Room

I wasn’t expecting any visitors today. Oh, no. You really don’t want to come in here. Believe me. Well... If you insist... I’m sorry for the mess. Please watch out for the pile of Not Good Enoughs. I didn’t have time to fold them today Because I was too busy Trying to pack that half-filled box of Shameful Remembrances. Be careful of that teetering tower of Totally Useless Trivia. It grows remarkably without me even trying. I would highly suggest not opening that closet door. It’s filled to bursting with Anxiety Dreams And once they get out, Well, they have a mind of their own. Things got a bit mixed up yesterday As I was chasing my Racing Thoughts Which is why there’s all this clutter. But If I’m being honest, It usually looks this way Until my weekly meeting with my Housekeeper.
