STORY STARTER
While on a first date, you begin to realise that the person you’re seeing is actually someone you used to know. But now they seem very different…
Hello Again
Blue eyes, so ordinary, so common. Yet as I looked at my current phase, I find myself trying to wonder where I have seen the exact same shade before. His eyes skim through the menu, thoroughly. The menu shielding most of his face, leaving only his hooded eyes in view. Cornflower blue skimming through each word; going right to left then right to left. No words has been uttered since we’ve been sat at the table.
“So… My name is Ellie, it’s nice to finally meet you” Attempting to break the silence, maybe I should have not agreed to this blind date.
“…” His singular eyebrow raises as to mock me.
“I know who you are”
His accent cuts through the air as he drops the menu. Giving me a more detailed view of his face.
He has the type of face that would hold my attention longer than I’m supposed to give. A soft jawline with a faint trace of stubble. Few freckles scattered across the bridge of his nose and just under his eyes. His hair was dark. Somewhat familiar, I have seen this face before. Maybe when it was younger, softer, less guarded.
My eyes widen the moment it hits me, it’s Ryan. Sitting in front of me, staring at me with a smug expression like he’s in on some joke I haven’t heard yet. As if he wasn’t the one that ended it all those years ago. As if time hadn’t passed and he hadn’t once walked away without looking back
“i missed you”
