POEM STARTER
Awakening
Write a poem about an awakening - it could be literal or metaphorical.
Awakenings
I feel one has a few awakenings in life,
When they're young and wild,
Running blissfully with friends they just found.
When they're a surly teenager,
Navigating the minefield of hormones all around.
When they're treading off to college,
Finding they can be free-spirited and unbound.
When they're starting their first job,
Rooting their feet on the uneven ground.
I feel one has a few awakenings in life,
When they have their first kiss,
Awkward and chaste, coveted and memorable.
When they discover their first love,
Making even the best of us blindly irresponsible.
When they experience their first time,
Hopefully a memory that forever stays unforgettable.
When they come across their soulmate,
Who'd make the infinite world a tiny bit more lovable.
