POEM STARTER

Write a poem about the protagonist getting something off of their chest.
Of My Chest
The Hero Speaks
You see the sword, the fearless face—
The tales of glory, grit, and grace.
But never asked what lies beneath,
The weight I wear, the grief I sheath.
I fought for you, I bled and burned,
While dreams to ash and silence turned.
The cheers rang loud—but not the cost,
The lives I led, the ones I lost.
So hear me now, just once, at last:
I am not just my battles passed.
I carried hope, and doubt, and dread—
A thousand ghosts I never said.
Let me be more than myth or flame—
A heart that breaks, and rose, the same.
