The Blockade

Juan raised the Vimana over the surface of the water, to hear the gasps of the sailors aboard the sinking vessel, relayed to his ears from the sensing apparatus on the airship's surface. "It's Death!" They screamed, "The Pale Rider!" Impressed by how quickly their iconography had spread to the Sanglorians, Juan fired two more torpedoes against the bow. The ship's prow disappeared below the waves.

Another ship was entering the Strait, and he could see the sailors working to reverse its course as they approached the wreckage of the first ship. "Whales and Orcas!" Juan commanded. "After the first torpedoes, drive that ship sideways, then capsize it!" Shooting torpedo after torpedo at the smokestacks and deck of the second ship, Juan watched with satisfaction as the craft was pushed sideways, then tipped over with a magnificent crash.

The first ship was sinking faster and faster, and a whirlpool opened up. Juan watched as lifeboats tried to escape the downward pull of the water, almost making it to safety, before being driven down into the whirlpool by dolphins. Sailors bobbed above the waves, before being drowned by whales and Orcas.

Sensors alerted Juan to attacks on the bottom of the Vimana. Submarines had arrived, and torpedoes began to rock the submerged airship gently. Juan turned the craft to avoid them, sending a signal to Cancer.

Cancer immediately led an attack against the submarines, with a storm of whales pushing them into rolls and preventing them from targeting. Pride welled up in Juan's heart to see Cancer in action, dragging a submarine down to the depths of the Strait, and returning to view shortly to lead further attacks.

Satisfied that the underwater battle was in hand, Juan raised the Vimana out of the water and began to exchange fire with the helicopters which had begun hovering over the sinking ships. He bore down on them, scattering the helicopters in all four directions, dragging men on rope ladders behind them. There would be no rescues this day.

Heat seeking missiles downed each of the helicopters, which spun in widening circles before they hit the water. With the fuel oil leaking into the waters of the Strait, fires exploded all along the wreckage of the boats and helicopters. Screams rose from the waves.

"Cancer! Kette!" Broadcast Juan. "Lead the aquatic life through the passageway to escape! The water's tainted!" Both responded with "Aye, Captain Gemini!"

Juan continued to destroy ships and down aircraft, creating a raging firestorm all across the Strait. He felt invincible as he rained missiles down on an aircraft carrier, smashing it in half. His blockade now appeared complete, between the sunken ships and raging inferno.

He rose into the air, preparing to contact Libra for the next set of orders, when he was hit by an immense impact, nearly turning his Vimana on its side. Righting himself just before he impacted land, Juan spun around to see a massive cannon aimed at him on land.

"To the atmosphere!" Boganasheth told Juan, and Juan immediately shot the craft through the clouds, straight up at thundering speed. Once the Vimana was out of the cannon's range, Juan shot a flurry of missiles from the craft's lowest aperture, and followed them down. When he saw the smoking crater where the cannon had been, Juan started cackling with laughter, relief washing over him.
