WRITING OBSTACLE
Describe a forest/woodland setting without using any real colours.
You may use imagery, similes, shade and tone etc, but do not use the words for any real colours.
The Woods
Morning dew still sits on the moss covered ground, the sunlight dancing through the branches that spread across the sky barely reaching the ground for the clouds to claim it back. The large oak leaves interlock in every direction at this point in the spring. The birds chirp throughout the trees, occasionally flashing by with their wings spread out. Honeysuckle scent fills the air as they bloom, begging to be picked. In the opening down the path, the creek trickles on the rocks that line it on either side. A family of deer stand at the edge of the creek, heads bent, slowly lapping up the water. I sigh. Just another morning.
