Well-Known Secrets

The whispers weave between the cracks.

Secrets everyone knows but never unpacks.

They linger in the air, passing from soul to soul.

Until they’ve reached us all, in full control.

We all know the secrets, buried deep down.

They’re not just whispers, it’s the word of the town.

We’ve chained ourselves to them, leaving us scarred.

Casting this shell around us and it is quite hard.

But we’ll keep pretending that they’re not there.

Because some secrets are to hard to bear.
