The forgotten society
I turned my head as I reread the stone, "you may have earned your name finally young one, but they won't forgive you for this kill". Odd I thought myself, why would a child need to earn their name. I shook my head and finish the walk back to my car walking on the path the Cemetry had freshly laid with brick and stone, I sigh grabbing my journal and start writing the words from the tombstone in the driver's seat setting the paper on top of the case files. "I've taken on a lot of strange cases, but this is the strangest yet. Get ahold of yourself Clarissia." I say putting the car in drive and head towards the library. As I drive, I can't shake the feeling of the words the feeling of unease and curiosity in the meaning of those final words. In a way those words feel familiar like I have heard them before in a dream long ago. As I park my car and walk into the library I head towards the newspaper and get to work. I grab the stack from December of '97 and start reading analyzing to see if I can find something, as I sigh running my hands through my hair then notice something in the picture a small girl eyes black as night and a sinister smile. I feel the pit in my stomach form the nausea hitting me hard. As I look at the little girl, I realize who killed sweet Mrs. Jeanie Smith my old neighbor on her way to church. I run outside throwing up into a bush, "Mrs. Smith I am so sorry." I say declaring the case cold. "No one can know who I killed for my name"
