POEM STARTER
Write a Petrarchan Sonnet on the theme of Autumn.
A Petrarchan Sonnet has 14 lines; the first 8 must have a rhyme scheme ABBAABBA, the last 6 can have variable rhymes, but are normally split into 2 sets of 3 lines.
Turning
All around, the leaves are bleeding
Full of their beautiful death
While sipping in their last breath
And earth’s rotation gives her heeding
That its almost time for seeding.
Nuts and seeds fall, searching for planted depth
While creatures scurry to collect them from the soil’s chilled breadth.
Squirrel and tree, and ground and seed without want or needing.
