Vroom. Vroom. Thats all you hear at midnight outside the library. I glanced out the window to see the noise, and as I assumed theirs another street race. Every since summer started they’ve been racing. I’m surprised the cops haven’t put a stop to it yet.

It was now around one in the morning, and the noise wasn’t any better. I stepped outside into the cool chill of the June night, holding my books, and glanced around. As soon as I was about to step into the road someone’s arm pulled me back as two cars raced by. I was surprised and dropped my books scrambling to get them. Over my shoulder I heard a voice, a familiar voice, “What’re you doing? Are you blind? If it wasn’t for me you would’ve been a damn pancake!” I glanced over my shoulder as I stood up, “I didn’t need you’re saving.” He scoffed and crossed his arms. “If you’re so brave why don’t you race one of those cars yourself?”
