Talking with the Devil
On a moonless night, Alex stumbled upon an old, decaying mansion rumored to be haunted. Intrigued, Alex entered and found a dusty tome titled “Conversations with the Infernal.” Unable to resist, Alex chanted the forbidden words inscribed within.
A sulfurous mist enveloped the room, revealing a cloaked figure with piercing red eyes – the Devil himself. The air grew icy as the Devil grinned. “What is it you desire my child?” He said menacingly. Hesitantly she replied. “I want you to remove the dark and twisted horrors that plague my mind.” Minutes passed and the Devil looked upon Alex. “I shall grant you this request but first you must forfeit something precious.” He said.
“I will not give you my soul please take anything else but leave my soul” she replied shakily.
A wicked and foul grin appeared on his face revealing gnarled and jagged teeth. “We shall see, though I do believe you will desire that I take your soul in the end.” The Devil said with a deep guttural laugh. Suddenly the Devil snapped his fingers sending out a violent echo throughout the house. “All you need do now is to command your thoughts to leave, your mind.” He said.
Unsure of what to expect Alex began to command her torments to leave but as she did so her thoughts began to materialize. Grotesque shadows began haunting Alex’s every step. Whispers echoed through the halls, and unseen entities tormented her sanity. Each command exacted a toll, twisting reality into a nightmare.
Desperation consumed Alex as she realized the true horror of talking with the Devil. The mansion became a labyrinth of despair, with each corridor leading to a dark revelation. Alex faced the Devil begging him to stop the horrors manifesting around her.
Reveling in the agony brought on by her desire to achieve peace he offered a final solution. “I see that you wish a release from your torment. I ask again if you are prepared to forfeit something precious to me?” said the Devil. Knowing that the Devil only cared for one thing Alex knew what she needed to do. Defeated she dropped her head and in a faint voice she whispered the words he had been waiting for. “Please take my soul if it will cure my mind from this evil.”
A shrill laugh escaped the Devil's mouth as the words leaving her lips overwhelmed him with joy. Slowly he walked over to Alex and placed a hand on her head. “By the end of our journey, you will wish you had lived with your thoughts instead of trusting I’d fix your pathetic mind.” He said before claiming what was promised – a soul forever entwined in the abyss.
