“There is no way I’m going up there!” Gemma cries.

“It’s not even that high you’ll be fine.” Ella says, disregarding her friends fear.

“You know I have acrophobia, this isn’t fair.” Gemma sobs.

“Stop acting like a wuss!” Ella snaps.

Gemma and Ella have been best friends since grade school, but as Gemma has gotten older she has developed a severe fear of heights. Ella has always discredited her fear and always says she’s just being a baby. Now that Gemma is sixteen years old though she is tired of her best friends rudeness.

“It’s not my fault!” Gemma screams, “You don’t know what this is like.”

“Shut up!” Ella snaps and slaps Gemma in the face.

“Ahh!” Gemma yelps, shocked from the pain and realization that her friend is toxic.

“You’re the worst friend in the world!” Gemma shouts and stomps back down the hill.

As Gemma walks away Ella picks up a stone and launches it straight towards the back of Gemmas head. “THUD!” It hits her. Gemma vision blurs as she feels warm, sticky blood trickle down her neck. She screams as she falls down, unable to stand. Everything around her slowly fades to black as she hears sirens in the distance. All of a sudden though she finds herself standing outside of her house with a beautiful sunset panted in the sky.

“Where am I” She asks, looking around.

“You are in your mind!” An anonymous voice says to her.

“Who’s there?” She says, startled.

“Look down!” Comes the reply.

“Awww!” Gemma coos, “You’re so adorable.”

“I know, I know!” The cat says, attempting to wriggle out of Gemmas grasp.

“How can I hear you?” Gemma asks, lifting the kitty towards the sky.

“It’s a long story, I’m here on a mission so I need you to listen to me carefully.” The cat says.

“Ok, I’m listening!” Gemma says.

“That girl, Ella through a rock at you and now you are in the hospital because of her. Would you like revenge?” The cat grins.

“Revenge!?” Gemma exclaims, shocked.

“Yes, revenge! I can give you powers, so that your revenge will be even sweeter!” The cat smiles.

“I would rather something else!” Gemma smiles, with a distant look on her face.

“What?” The cat asks questioningly.

“Can you give me powers to bless and help others rather than to take revenge? I still love Ella even if she did hospitalize me.” Gemma says as she gently sets the cat down.

“Your wish has been granted, I can sense the purity in your heart! I will send you to the real world now.” The cat smiles, giving Gemma a goodbye rub on the legs.

“Thank you kitty!” Gemma bends down, stroking the cat for a few more seconds before…

“Woah!” Gemma gasps, sitting up with a start in the hospital bed.

“Your awake! Doctor!” Gemma’s mother calls, rushing over to her daughter.

“Mom!” Gemma smiles, “I have a gift for you.” Gemma places her hand on her mothers head and blesses her.
