Try to make each entry build from the last to add to the storyline. If you switch perspective, make it clear that it's someone else's journal.

Matthew: Dear Diary, I don’t know what happened earlier. We were at the car and for no damn reason, the cars at the back were honking at us nonstop for real. There’s a guy who stopped beside us and gave us the finger then drove away. A little later, there were two guys with the cool black shades at our window. We were just chilling me and my boy, D, tryna behave like good kids.
Dela Rosa: Dear Diary, You know man, Matt was high as a kite. I mean my eyes a little red too but I’m sure I can still drive. His ass laughing cause he said the red light smiling at him. We caused a traffic jam cause his ass on the driver seat. Then the popo came. I tried to hide that blunt as fast as pacman. Good thing one of them was Matt’s older brother.
