And if an asteroid comes hurtling down,
We’ll die together.
And of the music starts to play,
We’ll dance together.
And if you try to stomp us out,
We’ll fight together.
But down here from the ground.
The idea appears to be sound.
That we aren’t together.
Ooh this is a really great concept to go with this prompt! I liked each line, but once I’d read the final analogy I felt the meaning of the rest of the poem even more poignantly! Very clever 😃
You could potentially have broken up each couplet into their own stanzas, or at least added a period at the end of each. Each couplet by itself holds a powerful image, and this could have been emphasised better if you’d have given them their own space (so when you get to the end you’re ready for a powerful statement, instead of going back and reading it all again like I did!)
