Lost Necklace
Kingsley’s life is pretty quiet, and she likes it that way. She recently moved into a cozy apartment in the busy downtown area to ensure that she was far far away from her old life. But despite the faint sound of cars honking, the laughter that would fill the nightlife, and the lights casting out from office buildings, it was still ever so peaceful to her. It was much more peaceful than the environment she used to live in. That small, suffocating town where everyone knew each other and the fresh “hot gossip” of the week. She made it her mission to get away. To make sure nobody knew anything about her—at least that’s what she thought.
After coming home from the grocery store, she spotted a beautifully wrapped package next to her floor mat. _Strange_, she had thought. Normally the mailman would leave packages with the staff in the lobby. But she didn’t order anything at all recently. So nothing should be there at all. _Maybe the package was for the previous owner_. However, as she drew near, she saw that the package had her name on it. She bends down and looks at it, and when she does her heart skips a beat.
It was from her neighbor. The man that actively avoided her and gave her the cold shoulder when she tried to introduce herself her first week in the apartment.
_I know you lost your necklace recently, figured you’d be happy to have it back—Elias_

The only reason she knew him by name was because of the landlord that seemed to despise him.
Right then and there, Kingsley opens the box and sees that it was indeed the necklace she lost two days ago. The pretty morning glory pendant with her first initial. But the question that was on her mind was…_how did he know it was hers specifically when he doesn’t even acknowledge her?_
