POEM STARTER
Use the 'snowball technique' to write a poem, where the first line is one word long, the second line has two words, and so on.
Remember you do not have to 'build' on the first word - each line should use different words.
Portland Night
Rain
falls softly
on empty streets.
Neon lights flicker;
Cyclists speed by quickly;
Food carts, steaming, fragrant;
Murals whisper stories in paint;
Music spills from open doorways.
A crowd gathers, watching in awe
as streetlights cast shadows on history.
Voodoo donuts passed around, shared with love;
Strangers smile, laugh, finding connection in the dark
as Portland breathes in this living moment.
I know this doesn't follow the format exactly, but let's say it's inspired by the form.
