As the plates are set

And everyone is seated

We all dig in

Plates piled high with turkey

Stuffing

Pasta

Mashed potatoes

We stuff our mouths till we can’t fit any more

Stomachs full

But just enough room is left

For pumpkin and chocolate pie

We give our thanks

And when everyone goes home

There’s just one piece of pie left

And I call it
