POEM STARTER
A photo booth camera captures the moment when a girl confesses something to her friend.
In a poem or short story, describe the image and let the readers infer the nature of the confession.
Four Little Photos
Four little photos
Shot in white and black
Four little photos
Forever looking back.
What were the whispers
Said in confidence?
Something long forgotten
Not remembered hence?
Or whispers of conspiracy
Nefarious plot?
Or maybe a confession,
“Girl, I think he’s hot!”?
Two girls in a photo booth
Whispering a tale
The eyes revealing everything
The photos never fail.
They remind the girls
Of how life was back then.
Life was full of innnocence
When the girls were ten.
And when they see their photos
Of that day in May
They become all misty-eyed
And they have much to say
Of mysteries and memories
Of adventures shared by two
Of romances and crushes
“Girl, he so liked you.”
Of life lived to the fullest
Not just when they were ten
Of being there for each other
Forever and again.
Of laughter and of crying
Of happy days and sad
Of being the best friend
Either of them had.
Four little photos
Hold memories dear
Four little photos
Two friends always near.
