POEM STARTER
You are convinced you can see mysterious figures lurking in the shadows. Write a poem about them.
Choose a specific style of poetry that would be suitable for this theme.
“It’s Your Imagination.”
They say I’m crazy,
And I’m awry.
They say I’m hazy,
and they’re a lie.
If my life is full of hallucinations,
Then I need to find a destination.
For you see is not a spree
But a key waiting to flee
Sometimes I think
I have smeared
Because just a blink,
And they’ve disappeared
It’s your imagination”, as I will be told,
Which is why I keep it under a fold.
I’ve come across a disaster,
That will require a castor.
I’ve kept it to myself,
For I fear a fumble.
I will end up on a bookshelf
If my secret crumbles
In the shadows I seek,
As I see them calling me a freak.
Their forms like water,
Constantly a bother.
As I grow old,
They still lurk.
I no longer am bold,
And watch them with a smirk.
