How Fascinating It Is
“The rainbow
How does it appear in
The dark?”
We stared at the shimmering
Thing
Mesmerized
“Don’t question it
Instead, glorify it
Reach out and feel it.”
And I did
I reached out, hesitantly
Afraid that I would shatter the sight
But no,
My hand was met with mist
Cool air danced on my fingertips
“A wonderful thing
Is it not?
Now look up.”
I did and gasped
Up close, it seemed as if the light was
Twirling, clasping their hands together as they twisted and tumbled
The colors swirled:
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo
Violet
They somehow lit up the void of sky
“How fascinating!
How fascinating this is!
This glorious thing is up in the ebony sky!”
“How fascinating it is, indeed.
Now close your eyes
And feel the breeze.”
I did as so
And rested that day
Feeling the colors beneath, above, _inside_ me
How fascinating this wonderful thing is
Indeed
A rainbow such as it, lighting the night sky
