The Path Of Expectations

The dark clouds overlapping eachother made the path to my destination unclear. Though it felt like I was heading on a rough path, far away from my goal. Everything was a mystic blur.

The unpleasant sound of my 8am alarm woke me up to reality. Everyone in our small home was awake, you could tell from the loud racket coming from my younger sister.

“mum shes still in bed!” my sister shouts outside my bedroom door as her pink fairy princess toothbrush is hanging out of her mouth dripping toothpaste onto her pink unicorn PJ’s.

“Just give me 2 more minutes!” I grunt leaning into my pillow. I hate school. I wonder what idiot decided to put a load of kids into one classroom for ‘education’.

“MUM SHES GOING BACK TO SLEEP!” my sister shouts louder than before. I mumble to myself while trying to get out of bed. I soon realise I should get dressed into my red school uniform and blazer before dad gives me a lecture during breakfast about going to bed earlier.

I slowly drag myself toward the messy floor covered in dirty washing and food wrappers. I attempt climbing over the dump to get to my wooden wardrobe with clothes half falling out.

The story proceeds to where she goes to school and she think about this dream all day. And she is unable to achieve her goal and the dream is the metaphor.
