Strangers with connection
I‘ve been sitting here for ages. Maybe i came here too early? Stupid airports. It‘s getting boring by now. Being alone isn’t really my thing. Being alone without anything to do is even less my thing. Maybe i could listen to some music? I look into my bag. Where did i put my earbuds? I look everywhere. Goddamn they can‘t have vanished. Argh. Why does this keep on happening?? I literally double checked if i had them this morning. Maybe i should just glue them to myself at this point. I sigh. Well, i guess the only thing that i can do is buy new ones. God, this is gonna hurt my bank account. These airports know how to scam people. Earlier i didn’t even wanna pay a bit for 2 bottles of water and now i‘m buying way more expensive new earbuds. Anything against the boredom. I look for where i can find them. At least i have an empty store ahead. Nobody else is willing to fall for their scam. Only good old me. I stand infront of the shelf with the earbuds and headphones. So many to choose from and one more expensive than the other. I decide to purchase the cheapest of them. I take em off the shelf as i hear a guy saying:“ You sure you wanna buy those, pretty lady?“ God, this situation is so obscure. “Are you talking to me?“, i ask. He looks around and then back at me. “You see anyone else in here? And if, then do you think they are a pretty lady like you?“ He‘s definitely charming. I can sense myself blushing. I smile at him while saying:“ Thank you. And yes i wanna buy those. It‘s a long story but mine are gone and i just need something cheap to get through the wait and then the flight.“ “Those aren’t cheap though. Or am i living under a rock now?“, he asks me. “Ah, yeah nice inspection, Sherlock.“, i tell him. He signs me to follow him. I put the earbuds back. He shows me cheaper ones. Some that won‘t scam me. They seem worth their price. He raises an eyebrow while looking at me. I grab them off the shelf. “Thank you for saving me my money.“, i break the silence. He just nods. I go to the cashier. He follows me. I pay. I leave the store. He follows. Okay so what’s that gonna be once it‘s finished? I turn around. I look into his eyes. Deep, blue, clear like the ocean. “So i really appreciate your help, but why are you still following me?“, i ask. He thinks for a second. Then he slowly replies with:“ I don‘t even know what i‘m doing. You just have something. It‘s like you‘re a magnet that attracts me.“ I feel this weird attraction too. Mysterious thing. I just nod as if i knew. He looks at his watch. An actual watch, not a digital one. That‘s lowkey sexy in some way. “Well, my‘lady it was nice meeting you. My flight is soon. I‘m going to America for my studies. I wish we would have had more time.“, he tells me. I say:“ If you want we can exchange numbers. Oh and I‘m going to Korea, i got some business to do there.“ „Do you want me to type my number in on your phone? Or will you type yours in mine?“, he asks. I stutter:“ Uhm, it‘s like that. My phone kinda died a couple minutes ago and i gotta charge it first and i don‘t have my number memorized.“ So he‘s saying:“Damn, i have another idea then“. He casually takes out a pen. “Where should i write it?“, he questions. Shit, i don‘t have any paper. “Just write it on my arm there.“, i tell him. He writes it down and waves his goodbye while mouthing the words “CALL ME“. I giggle and look for my powerbank. Sadly i start walking during that too because i saw one of the last empty seats. Someone runs into me. They spill their whole drink over me and my arms. They immediately apologize but start running again right away. I start drying myself off. I then realize that some of the numbers washed off. Fuck. Well, i‘m bored anyway so i guess i‘ll just try out every combination that i can think of. I gotta find him. I gotta find out what he and i are feeling. I take out my phone and start with typing out all possible combinations. That‘s gonna take a long ass time.
