Kreep
It was late the eve of Halloween and I could feel this sense of dread washing over me. I didn't know what was causing this feeling, so I tried to brush it off the best I knew how to do. I reached across the table, and picked up a bottle of vodka. I twisted the top off, and brought the bottle to my lips for a drink. Off in the distance, I heard the wind howling. It sounded like something out of a horror movie. Uneasy by the sound, I went to turn on my TV, and watched an episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. It was my favorite TV series. After finishing that episode I decided to get some sleep. I woke up nearly at 3am to a loud banging sound outside which startled me. I didn't know what could possibly be outside at this hour of the morning, but being the curious person I am, I decided to go check it out. Everything was dark. There wasn't a light on, not even lamp posts, which is rather unusual. A thin fog covered everything, making it nearly impossible to see anything almost 10 yards away. I fumbled around in search of a flashlight, but then I realized I had my phone in hand. After turning on my flashlight, I looked around to see where the banging may had came from. Nothing. There was nothing that could have made the sound outside. Once again, I hear a banging sound by it seemed like it came from behind me, inside of my house. I was terrified at this point because I don't have any animals, or anyone else who is living with me. This is my first time living on my own, I am only 23 years old, and recently moved out of my parents house to go to college. I decided to take a deep breath in, and exhale before going inside to see if I can locate the banging sound from within. As I slowly made my way inside, I felt the rush of dread wash over me again. This time it was more intense than the last time. Hesitant, I went ahead and walked inside because I knew I couldn't just say outside all night especially over a little fear. I searched my kitchen, my living room, my bathroom, there was nothing. I decided it would be best to return to my sleep since it more than likely was just something I was hearing, especially with it being so early in the morning. I thought I had went insane at this point. As I moved closer to my bedroom, I felt a strong gust of wind, almost knocking me onto my feet. That through me aback as all the windows are locked in the house and shut, and I closed my door and locked it when I came inside. My eyes drifted to my bedroom and then all a sudden I heard this extremely loud banging sound come from behind me. My eyes immediately closed and when they opened in front of my face, his back turned to me, I saw someone or something that came from a horror movie. He was tall, his eyes were glossed over, and out of no where the umbrella in his hand banged against my wall. I didn't know rather to run, or stay still. I didn't know rather I should let him know that I realized he was there, or not. I was frozen in fear. My eyes immediately closed again when I realize he had saw me. My body collapsed to the floor, shaking. In this moment I thought I was going to die. I got enough strength built up to open my eyes, and to look around, but he was no where to be found. I didn't know if I should call the police, or if I should just leave my house all together until the morning. I stood back up, and walked into the living room, and off in the distance through the window in my dining room, I saw the ghostly man look at me, smile, and disappear into the fine mist that was outside. My body trembled, and I thought to myself, "Was this all in my head?" Horrified by the thought, I walked over to my couch and sat back down. I turned on the TV, and the man was on the local news station. The headline read, "Beware if you see this man tonight."
