Jealousy
In shadows cast by envy's wicked gaze,
A tale of jealousy, my pen portrays.
A poison that consumes the human heart,
Unleashing anguish, tearing souls apart.
Like a venomous serpent, it coils and creeps,
Through tender bonds, it stealthily seeps.
Its tendrils of green, a sinister hue,
Inflicting wounds, both old and anew.
Oh, jealousy, thy bitter seeds you sow,
In hearts once pure, where love used to flow.
With eyes of emerald, you silently pry,
On dreams and fortunes of those passing by.
In every smile, a dagger keenly placed,
Creating rifts, with anguish interlaced.
A festering wound, that festers and sears,
A toxic storm, fueled by unspoken fears.
It blinds the mind, distorting what is true,
Casting shadows on the joyful and the few.
No solace found in others' success,
Only a gnawing ache, a bitter distress.
Yet, in this darkness, a lesson may be learned,
For jealousy, too, can be overturned.
Embrace the light that shines within each soul,
Find joy in others, let compassion console.
