Starting Point

“Demonstrate it.” The man demand towering over me with his crooked grin, cain in hand and sinisterly gleamy dark eyes starring over me.

However despite his imposing figure and gruff demeanor initially coming off as quite intimidating, I almost wondered if he was serious, a little unsure what to do now that I’m frozen. My heart pounded in my ears.

The air felt thick and heavy, making it difficult to breathe.

Even the presence of his associates around the basement did not help with matter wether I believe it or not that this man wanted to help me.

I wanted to desperately run or hide to escape this threatening presence but I couldn’t leave Jorah who laid knocked out across my legs.

The man leaned in closer now, I flinched at the sound of his cain hitting the floor just right beside me. He leaned in until he was a few inches from my face. His breath smelled of smoke and licorice. And his black eyes was so dark it seemed unnatural. Panic began to well up inside me and I try to not shrink back for he landed his palms on my shoulder and to move would probably would cause him to think I’m risisting.

“Just play along.” He whispers.

Oh thank god. He should’ve seriously just mothed that earlier. My shoulders began to relax, the suffocating pall of fear that had enveloped me me lifted. Evens Jorahs weight on my legs lighten.

“Now how did you incapacitate your little friend here?” He asked.

And honestly I have not thought of what to say in that moment. So I told the truth.

“I didn’t he fainted.” I said

“Oh so you knocked him unconscious?” He pressed.

“Um no…” I replied. “He just fainted.”

“So if I were to feel his legs, there wouldn’t be any broken bones?” He asked.

That question made me paused.

“How could you feel if there’s any broken bones?” I asked and he tensed up.

“I’m trying to figure out what to do with you?”

He replied.

Now he was the one loosing his cool and glancing back.

“Dude his legs aren’t broken.”

“Okay so I’m gonna solidify you.” He says.

Huh? What’s he talking about “Soldli-what?”

“Like kinda make you frozen in time, don’t worry you won’t die.” He says.

“Are you serious right now.” I asked.

“Quite serious let me take your friend.” He said reaching over.

“Hey now!” I flinched holding Jorah closer.

“Um dude do you know how to even unfrozen me.” I asked bewilderedly.

“I mean no, but we’ll figure that out after your frozen now-“ He says leaning over and reaching once again “Stop yapping and give me Jorah!” He whispered.

Now scooting away from him backwards, awkwardly dragging Jorahs limp body with me.
