An Innocent Game

Upon this game’s release it was an immediate success, grasping the minds and bodies of every American young and old. This captivating game become so addictive that businesses and even the government in and unprecedented manner agreed to halt production to play the game!
Taking a break from the game to program an update, Mike decides to leave his house to eat. Having not left the house since the success of his game, Mike was unaware of the consequences of his addictive game. Exposed to the beginning of an apocalypse he caused, Mike is inspired to fix this problem.
To his demise on his way back home his distracted mind can’t stop thinking about how incredible his game is. To the point that he gets home, disregarding his hunger, jumps into his game.
While playing his game he convinces himself there is no problem with this innocent little game if it brings joy to the world.
Living out this philosophy leads Mike, along with the rest of the world, to abandon all responsibility. This mass psychosis leads to unnecessary starvation and disease due to people completely neglecting their own basic needs.
Mikes final realization to this horrible way of life was when a number of nuclear power plants were set to explode due to lack of maintenance.
A pioneer in a battle with machines for the worlds attention. Mike is forced to fight his own ruined attention span to focus on his world saving update.
Completing his update, with one swift push of a button all at once the objective of the game changed for every person on earth. Setting tasks that will slowly build the world back better than it was before. After months of hypnotic work completing the objectives set by the game the final battle is reached… get the world off the game.
After stabilizing the world Mike sets the most satisfying, engaging, achievement that creates closer and opens the players eyes to their neglect the last few years. This causes the world to open their eyes exposing the work they put in.
When history looks back in these dark ages brought in by a computer game it will be with a sense of appreciation. As this mass psychosis event sparked unity and cooperation. Leading to the realization that most social issues, short coming, and wars are caused by unnecessary miscommunications between our incompetent leadership.
