LOVE NEVER DIES
Every night the same nightmare plays out. He dreams of killing her and burying her in the woods. He’s tired when he wakes up next to her. She seems so rested and peaceful. How does he tell her he doesn’t love her anymore. How can he convince her that the nightmare feels so real. She doesn’t listen, why can’t she just leave him alone?
He’s losing his mind he feels the insanity tugging at him, taunting him to play a game. He closes his eyes.
I wake up in the woods buried in a shallow hole. Why does this keep happening? Today I will tell him, I hope the love of my life doesn’t think I’m crazy. I walk back into the house straight to the shower to get the dirt off.
I slide into the bed and hold him tight. he’s sweaty, another nightmare? I whisper softly in his ear “ love never dies.” He weeps.
