The Wrong Chapter

The clicking of my keyboard is the only sound that came out of my dorm room.

I was a writing major so I had to write as much as I could.

I felt my fingertips carrying my story all the way to the final chapter.

I had been typing for a long time so just before the final chapter, which I had already planned out, I decided to go get a new drink since I drank all my energy drink.

When I got up I felt my arm brush against my keyboard so I checked to make sure I didn’t ruin anything and then everything went black.

When I awoke I looked around and I was in a sorta tent thing.

I heard loud bangs and crashes outside so I was put into panic mode and I stepped out of the tent like structure to be met by soldiers in uniform and medics carrying people inside the tent.

The setting seemed eerily familiar.

I heard gunfire and I ran to hide behind a tree.

Just then I looked down and realized I was in a soldiers uniform and I had weapons strapped to me. Like a pistol on my thigh and a bigger gun on my back strap.

As I kneel behind the tree i realized There was a puddle in front of me. I saw my reflection.

I looked just like the main character in my book.

And then it hit me.

This was the setting to the last chapter of my book.

The main character was sent off to war because their father died and they were the last male in the family to defend their country.

I was in my book!

I tried to stay calm but knowing the ending, I knew I had to get out before the chapter ended, but how?
