Lurking in the Shadows
They’re lurking in the shadows all night long
Waiting and planning to perpetrate wrong.
They do not reveal
What vehicles they’ll steal.
They stay hidden in the shadows
Their motives to conceal.
They’re lurking in the shadows all day long
Waiting for somebody to say something wrong.
I see their beady eyes
I often think them spies
And they lurk in the shadows
Spreading vicious lies.
They’re lurking in the shadows all life long
Ridiculing another who dares to sing a song
They bully all the weak
They terrorize the meek
And they lurk in the shadows
Hard for all to seek.
They’re lurking in the shadows their whole life long
They cannot stand the light because they know they’re in the wrong
Bullies, criminals, and spies
Stealing, spreading lies
They stay hidden in the shadows
But we still see their beady eyes.
They’re lurking in the shadows always avoiding light
They cannot stand the scrutiny of judging wrong from right
So they know they must stay hid
Until the Judge does bid
He will call them from the shadows
And all my fears He will rid.
