The Sisterhood Of Hatred And Love
Everything we have always shared
As siblings so often tend to do
The seed of our father
The womb of our mother
Together we woke and together we grew
We shared the day we came to be
In screams of pain we both were birthed
Alike from the start
And yet so far apart
For my sister, she was born the first
They named her Love and what a child indeed
The name really suited her well
An angel was she
It was different with me
For I made their lives a living hell
I always knew I was wanted the least
Though Mother often pulled me aside
“Hatred,” said she
“You’re both equal to me”
But I was not to be fooled by her lies
My sister the best first impressions made
By people she was always adored
Wherever I were
They would ask for her
Otherwise I was often ignored
We are so alike and yet different at once
But Love is the one they prefer
They want only she
But cannot escape me
For I am a product of her
I wanted to leave, people wished for it too
I quickly grew angry and dark
Though they yearned for Love bright
I would stay out of spite
On my journey of rage I embarked
Because of her goodness, her smile and her laugh
My sister will often be used
And my envy despite
For her I will fight
Fuck with Love, and you fuck with me too
So wherever Love went I would follow along
To tease those who would not treat us right
When they thought she would care
I would jump out to scare
And they’d run fast away in a fright
Sisters we are and as close as can be
I’ll be there if you dare do her wrong
If for Love you wish
You must accept the risk
That Hatred will follow along
