Spellbound: Long Story Short

“Hey, do I look best in red, green, or blue? Anyways you know that mage Tony?”

“You look best when my eyes are closed. Now do you mean the Tony with the thing on his face or the one who stands too close when he talks?”

“Close talker, anyway my cousin is dating Tony’s daughter.”

“The one with the lopsided wings or the one with the teeth.”

“Wait did you mean my cousin or Tony’s daughter?”

“Your cousin. Do these pants make my butt look big?”

“No cake makes your butt look big. Now listen my cousin, Buttermilk, the one with the buck teeth. Luckily he matched with Stanwyck who’s into beavers so happy families. Long story short, I got the dirt on the wingless wonder and the Midnight Ball straight fron the horse’s mouth.”

“Your cousin’s girlfriend’s dad. Spill the tea on how Miss Goody Two Trees landed Mr. Tall Dark and Steamy?”

“Tony said that hunky warlock begged Periwinkle to make a honest witch of him and get married. The little nymph refused.”

“But why? I heard those two were getting down and dirty from wherever and whenever. When his mom caught them in the butler’s pantry, she demanded the hussy be expelled from the manor.”

“No way.”

“Way!”

“I heard this Harlow likes …”

Watching the two shoppers flutter by, Periwinkle blushed crimson. She shrank back into the rack of clothes and hoped the earth would swallow her up. On her new wings, Periwinkle flew from the mall, crying.
